Other settings

Setting

Default

Description

Inner FM source

*

Here, if the administrators imported the EasyInput transport request to the SAP system (full version only), the user can switch globally to use EasyInput (BCC) own function modules instead of those SAP standard ones. This allows better security management and helps being independent from SAP changes. The selection given here, if other than *, overwrites the selection on EI_Config worksheet – StandardRunFunctionModule, ExtendedRunFunctionModule, GenericConversionFunctionModule.

Maximum number of empty lines between data

5

Sets the number of empty lines between data that will not be treated as the end of data.

Auto reconnection [seconds]

300

Maximum time after which the system does not require to repeat password submission. Setting longer period increases the user’s comfort but decreases the security.

SAP logon path

\SAP\FrontEnd\SAPgui\saplogon.exe

Either direct or indirect (from Program Files) path to SAP Logon program. Usually this setting should not be changed.

Hide advanced script configuration options [checkbox]

X

Decides whether additional buttons should appear on EI_Script_GS and EI_Script_TR worksheets, allowing to import script recorded in the SAP GUI application. Usually not needed when integrated recording from within EasyInput used.

Use help offline [checkbox]

Allows to switch between help accessible online (www) or local version of compressed help (chm). By default, the recomended solution is to use help online, but in case, there is no access to external www sites, then one can switch to local version of help.

Export settings[button]

Allows to export most important EasyInput global settings into XML file EasyInput.cfg

Important! A file created with this option can be manually edited and added to installation files in order to automatically change some default global settings values – see readme.txt file within installation files.

Import settings[button]

Allows to import most important EasyInput global settings from an XML file (see “Export settings” button description). Important! Not all settings that can be exported must be imported. One can delete from the XML file the settings, they do not want to change and import to another computer only the settings needed.

Transfer texts for translation [button]

Transfer all EasyInput text in current language onto EI_Texts hidden worksheet (normally only texts used by Excel are copied there). One can use this button, unhide the EI_Texts worksheet, copy the texts found there to another Excel file, translate them and send to EasyInput support e-mail in order to add the translation to the EasyInput product.

Check update [button]

Checking for updates manually works differently form automatic update option. With manual update check, the companies that bought the maintenance option can check if there are upgrades accessible for them. Normally, if there are updates, they should be downloaded and unzipped, by the product administrator and then put to the shared installation folder, so that the automatic update could be done companywide.

Reset to defaults [button]

Pressing this button will reset all the global settings to their default values.
